It’s been very active past month for the 6 Degrees of Creativity Random Acts of Art Adventure! During the month of May, the project had 4 stops across three different states: Indiana, Maryland, and Virginia:

Paula’s Creative Passport page is dedicate to Giusto Constantino, her paternal Great-grandfather.  Paula shares, “That is him sitting on the stoop of his home in NYC.  He was Sicilian and when ever anything went wrong and someone complained about it he reminded you that, “These are the things that happen to the living.”  In Sicilian it is, “Queste cose succedono ai vivi.”  …and my feeling is that ART is for the living.”

This past month also saw the safe return of the pouch’s Creative Passport (thank you Julie!).  As reported in my last travel update, the Passport Book was full from the previous 24 stops.  The Creative Passport was returned to 6 Degrees of Creativity Headquarters and a new book was mailed to Indiana to artfully document the remainder of the adventure!

Next on the pouch’s travel agenda is to head south in the US!  Yay!

Random Acts of Art Adventure | 6 Degrees of CreativityAbout the project**: A 8 x 6 inch canvas pouch filled with various artsy stuff, is mailed amound participants to make some creative goodness with…then the created art is given away in a random act of art to someone else!  The pouch gets filled back up with more creative stuff & then mailed again to the next participant to continue the creative cycle!  This project has 40+ more stops over the next 12 months (more or less!) to destinations in the US, Canada, Italy, the UK, India, Singapore, New Zealand, and Australia.

Creative Goodness Alert: Spotlight on 6 Degrees of Creativity Workshops

It’s exciting that the virtual workshop space for 6 Degrees of Creativity will be opening up again soon on March 1!  I’ve been working on getting the workshop spaces ready with art, content, and videos for the variety of workshops that I will be offering throughout this year.

Another fun workshop in this year’s 6 Degrees of Creativity line up is Creative Goodness: It’s in the Cards. This workshop will introduce different art media techniques and ideas all inspired by cards! Whether it’s a playing card, index card, bingo card, an inchie, artist trading card or more, this workshop encourages creative ways to take these ordinary card forms and transform them for personal and collective creative goodness.  Inchie inspiration will kick off the beginning of this workshop, with more to follow throughout the year!

6 Degrees of Creativity is offered as a self guided 10 month on-line workshop running from March 1, 2014 through December 31, 2014 that includes not only these 2 workshops, but 4 more too! The 6 Degrees of Creativity workshop community will include an online community to share, discuss ideas, post art, and deepen connection. Class content (i.e. PDFs, videos, supportive text, photos) will all be available until December 31, 2014 for instant inspiration!

All six workshops are available for $49.00 (US).

Travel Update from Connecticut: Random Acts of Art Adventure

The pouch will be back on the road by the end of this week, with travels to Prospect, Nova Scotia Canada next.  Here’s to safe travels as our pouch crosses the border to its first country outside of the US!

Random Acts of Art Adventure: US to Canada Map  | 6 Degrees of CreativityTo date, the pouch has reached 15 destinations in 7 different US states (Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut) and will now enjoy some creative visits on its tour in Canada to Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Edmonton.

Thanks again to everyone involved in this adventure and to Kerry & Bonnie for the photos of the pouch’s recent whereabouts and contents!  I think it’s very cool that this simple pouch made of canvas continues to deliver lots of art, delight, and connection among us all!

Creative Bon Voyage: Embarking on Acts of Art

July 1 begins 6 Degrees of Creativity’s Random Acts of Art Adventure— our pouch of creative goodness finally embarks on its travels– Yippee!!!!   The pouch will have 60 stops over the next 17 months (more or less!) to destinations in the US, Canada, Italy, the UK, India, Singapore, New Zealand, and Australia…Wow!  Here we go!
