It was an amazing opportunity to share my love of social media, creativity, and community building…. It was a great experience to talk about the possibilities social networking offers to connect all these passions together!
I’ve been able to creatively connect with soooo many through social networking– the art-based collaborations & gathering together that can happen online is always so inspiring!

The Random Acts of Art Adventure has finished 5 more of its final stops here in the US over the last couple of months! Yes! The participants of this adventure’s tail end have patiently waited (with much excitement!) as this project has traveled around the globe for over 3 years- 🙂
Check out these captures (thank you!) as sent to me by Suzie, Lisa, Laura, Joni & Dawn:
The pouch o’ creative goodness visits with Suzie in Sacramento on its tour throughout California!
Greetings from San Jose!
The pouch arrives to Lisa! With the materials that were gifted to her, Lisa created small pieces of art to randomly leave for others to find!
The Random Acts of Art Adventure’s stash received by Laura on its last California stop in Sunnyvale
Stop #55 includes a creative visit to Grand Junction, Colorado with Joni!
Dawn in Midwest City, Oklahoma welcomes the adventure to her creative space!
As a re-cap on what this awesome canvas pouch has experienced and the creative goodness it and all the participants have spread, so far there’s been #56 destinations over thousands and thousands of miles. This project started in 2012 @ 6 Degrees of Creativity Headquarters in the US and another 30+ US stops, then traveled to Canada, the UK, Italy, Singapore, India, Australia, New Zealand, and came back to the US this year for another 15 stops!
Over this time, participants have filled up the pouch over and over again with different art materials and artsy stuff for the next person on the travel route to receive and create art with for others as a gift of kindness, gratitude, and generosity. Watching this creative chain and connection has been amazing!
Very good news to share about The Random Acts of Art Adventure after an almost 3 month hiatus in Washington: the project is alive and well again in California, finally making it to Paulette in Woodside– Yay! I was soooo relieved and excited to see the photo below kindly sent by Paulette (thank you!) of the canvas pouch & creative passport, which arrived a couple of days ago from Olympia:
Stop #49: Woodside, California with Paulette
Wow! What a long journey of creative goodness it has been, which is now going into its third year. A dozen destinations remain and I can’t wait to see the adventure keep moving again to new creative spaces throughout California, in Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, North Carolina, and back to Ohio.
I continue to learn and discover so much as a result of this process, its participants, and each stop the pouch visits, which includes revisiting lessons in patience, faith, trust, gratitude, and the power of community & creativity. I am so thrilled that the adventure is continuing onward and eagerly look forward to keep sharing its remaining activity and travel updates with you this year. 🙂
If you need to catch up on the past travels of the project, check out past travel updates here.
Since the last travel update of the Random Acts of Art Adventure, the canvas pouch has arrived to two more countries!

The pouch will continue its tour throughout Australia and is currently on its way to Putney, New South Wales:
In 2014, the Random Acts of Art Adventure traveled to 6 different countries, in addition to many US Midwest & Eastern, & Southern states. Check out some of the past travel updates from 2014 here:
It’s been over 2 years since participants originally signed up for this project and this journey has definitely included lots of patience, creativity, kindness, and delightful surprise so far….. I can’t wait to see what the next 20 stops have to offer! 🙂
Happy 2015!

It’s been very active past month for the 6 Degrees of Creativity Random Acts of Art Adventure! During the month of May, the project had 4 stops across three different states: Indiana, Maryland, and Virginia:
Stop #25 with Julie in Indiana:
Creative Goodness with Julie in Georgetown, Indiana
Julie was excited to receive many vintage items in her stash of creative goodness from Heather in Illinois and made art that would be given away as door prizes at the next Corn Island Steampunk Society!
Stop #26 with Suzanne in Maryland:
Creative goodness with Suzanne in Dunkirk, Maryland
Suzanne is creating little books for the Tandem Typewriter II Tour for the little libraries that they are creating across country and hopefully some creative goodness from this stash can be used for this project!
Suzanne’s Creative Passport Page
The adventure continued onward to Paula for another stop in Maryland:
Creative Goodness with Paula in Gaithersburg, Maryland
Paula’s Creative Passport Page
Paula’s Creative Passport page is dedicate to Giusto Constantino, her paternal Great-grandfather. Paula shares, “That is him sitting on the stoop of his home in NYC. He was Sicilian and when ever anything went wrong and someone complained about it he reminded you that, “These are the things that happen to the living.” In Sicilian it is, “Queste cose succedono ai vivi.” …and my feeling is that ART is for the living.”
Stop #28 with Debbie in Virginia:
Creative Goodness with Debbie in Mavisdale, Virginia
Debbie’s Creative Passport Page
This past month also saw the safe return of the pouch’s Creative Passport (thank you Julie!). As reported in my last travel update, the Passport Book was full from the previous 24 stops. The Creative Passport was returned to 6 Degrees of Creativity Headquarters and a new book was mailed to Indiana to artfully document the remainder of the adventure!
Check out this short video of the Creative Passport and the pages created from July 2013-April 2014 throughout the US and Canada:
Next on the pouch’s travel agenda is to head south in the US! Yay!

Sara also sent a pic of her page that she created inside the pouch’s Creative Passport:
Sara’s Page inside the Creative Passport
Sara let me know that there were only a couple of pages left inside the Creative Passport to sign in or create on, so it was time to create Creative Passport Book #2!
This week I hand stitched another small book to meet up with the pouch’s next stop (#25!) with Julie in Indiana:
Creative Passport #2 in Route to Indiana!
Julie will kindly swap out the Creative Passports (thank you!) so there is a new one with 60+ pages ready to document the rest of its artsy travels in the US, Europe, India, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand throughout this year and in 2015! There’s lots and lots of adventures left…. 🙂
The first Creative Passport book is returning back to 6 Degrees of Creativity Headquarters here in Ohio and I look forward to sharing it with you in a future update!
Behave in benevolent and artful ways
Over at the 6 Degrees of Creativity workshop site, the last 2 months have introduced a variety of art-based concepts, inspiration, and art-making experiences to explore using art for creative goodness in our own lives and for others.
And…Artist Challenge Coins (ACCs) for our first Mail Art Collab & Challenge have been arriving for this month’s swap:
Artist Challenge Coins from MN, MS, & TN
Look for another post on this soon!
There’s still time to join in on this year’s 6 Degrees of Creativity workshops if you are interested in participating. Learn more here! Registration is open until July 31 and the workshops are available to enjoy until December 31, 2014.
Here’s to much, much more creative goodness ahead!
As a long winter in the US and Canada has started to slowly give way to the arrival of spring (more or less!), the 6 Degrees of Creativity Random Acts of Art Adventure continues to travel onward.
The pouch’s most recent stops (#22 and #23) have reached Wisconsin and Illinois:
From Nancy in Waukesha, Wisconsin
Nancy in Waukesha, Wisconsin received these creative goodies from its previous stop in Minnesota with Thresa. Nancy shared, “I wonder where all of the materials came from…. I thought it was so interesting to use items that could have come from so many places, to come together and make something new.”
The pouch then left the creative hands of Nancy to travel to Heather at Suncrest Studios in Bolingbrook, Illinois:

Below is Heather’s page in progress from the Pouch’s Passport Book that also travels with the pouch:
